BJGP Open is an international, peer reviewed, open access, online-only journal of primary care, which publishes original research and other articles of importance to primary care clinicians, researchers and teachers worldwide.

BJGP Open is published by Royal College of General Practitioners, a registered charity, regulated by the Charity Commission. Its charitable objective is: "To encourage, foster and maintain the highest possible standards in general medical practice". BJGP Open is editorially independent of RCGP and, in addition to society support, receives revenue including advertising and open access publication fees.
Partnerships
BJGP Open subscribes to the principles and guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, and participates in HINARI: the World Health Organization’s Access to Research in Health Programme. The full BJGP Open archive is available on this site, can also be viewed at PubMed Central, and is preserved in Portico. The journal is fully indexed on PubMed, Scopus, and Embase, and is included in the Directory of Open Access Journals.
